Full disclosure this is not my genre and not something I would have picked up if it wasn’t for Travis Baldree narrating this. I have to say while I am primarily a horror guy, this was a lot of fun and would easily say there are enough horror aspects in this to satisfy me. Something about how the story was told and all the intricacies of the word Neenan created really worked well for me.

For a litRPG story I really enjoyed what this had to offer. Again, since this isn’t my genre I can’t even say what I was expecting, but what I got was something quite enjoyable. I really liked David and found his path through the dungeon core quite satisfying. There was a lot of horror elements surrounding his path and that definitely resonated with me. It was graphic and quite gruesome, just how I like more stories.

The real reason I listened to this novel is that I am a huge fan of Travis Baldree’s narrations. He has a wide range of voices for the characters and does a fantastic job. You can hear the emotion and energy he puts into his narration and brings every story he tells to life. If you haven’t checked out his other works, you owe it to yourself to do so.
