Suspect this was hastily thrown together to hit the market during the Spring 2020 pandemic. I was looking forward to a survival story about folks who were not super-human preppers with friends in high places. Full disclosure: I couldn’t bear to finish it.

It could have developed into a good read, but the author chose to fill it with so much annoyingly irrelevant details. There was detailed description of every persons clothing, the decor of every interior space, the interior of every vehicle . It was a mistake to set the date 2032, then describe technology and other scenes/situations that are very likely to be very different in 12 years.

Altho the narrator was of better quality than the writing deserved, he did not demonstrate smooth transition between voices and really, mostly the characters had similar voices. He did not demonstrate credible female voices well. I admit that for a narrator to project a credible voice of that opposite their gender is a very rare skill to find.
