We’ve seen this setup before, our protagonist is reincarnated into another body in a different world. I find myself in the last twenty minutes of the book waiting for the end (which is quite abrupt btw). This is not a good book. The story is shallow, the characters hollow, making it difficult for me to follow. Seriously, the story, along with the plot, is quite thin. The purported isekai, wuxia, xianxia, and gamelit elements are almost non-existent unless you’re counting a spinning sword and utilizing chi as an aphrodisiac those elements. Game stats are mentioned in passing but that’s about all. The harem elements? There are a few mild sexual encounters but they just seemed strange to me. I like the narrator. I’ve always liked Andrew Wehrlen but I’m so used to hearing him perform chaste non-fantasy roles that this one just didn’t fit him. How this book is getting five-star reviews is beyond me. Perhaps this is their first gamelit exposure. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
