I got this book right away after finishing the first one.

This second book definitely amps up on the drama and is darker then the first one.

I can honestly say the first book was still better as the romance in this book was way more troubling with conflicted characters and inner demons really making it difficult. This created a LOT of tension and i did kinda like that push/pull of the characters being so new to the budding relationship and we get to follow along while they try and figure out how to deal with their conflicts themselves.

This has a much more interesting overall story though compared to the first book. Its very dark, stomach churning and upsetting. The story got a disturbed reaction out of me that i wasn’t expecting but i appreciated the writing making it consumable still to read without getting too sick. I understand torture, but I cant stand when the details get too overwhelming that it makes the book too difficult to read for people sensitive to that.

Once the romance picks up, it stays dark and twisted. Definitely not as pure as the first book as these guys have a lot more to deal with internally. When the Erotic moments did come, i honestly found it sorta difficult to be aroused by it and more felt light hearted with butterflies these guys were finally getting some relief dealing with their issues. I guess the story being as dark as it was made the Erotic moments less Erotic.

I’m also led to believe that maybe this is the last book of the series.
The writing towards the end make it seems like the series is wrapped up as i dont see where else it could go.

Overall this book was just so fulfilling, anyone looking into a shifter series should buy this but be warned that its not going to be light and fuzzy.
