I read this months after reading “My Life as a Country Album,” and diving back into this world (where Jake and Cam still “were”) was comforting and felt like home. Mia is stuggling with some inner demons but has an opportunity to go on an adventure. Enter Derek, a sweet, genuine, sexy, up-and-coming rockstar. The relationship that develops between Mia and Derek is real, believable and infused with just the right amount of heat and slow-burn that you know is going to come to an explosive peak! The characters and their struggles were very relatable. Mia and Derek work so well together and compliment each other so well. They both have their own struggles to overcome and I really enjoyed seeing them navigate life and their relationship, finding a way to make it work.
The audio is quite beautifully narrated by Sarah Puckett. She’s become one of my favorite female narrators and was the perfect choice for this story.
