Many have liked this book and found it helpful, you may or you may not. I did not. I was really excited, and thought I would love this book, but I found it quite frustrating. In my opinion, there was a lack of balance. The book seems far more focused on the problem of the ego and negative aspects, than on achieving the goal/ Enlightenment. (Using negative as a relative term in order for this review to make sense). There was more written on the negative, with the same things being repeated. Noting the negative is necessary put positive reinforcement works, and putting more focus on the desired outcome/ enlightenment, would have been helpful, and stuck more in the mind. So much focus on the negative aspects may cause them to manifest during the voyagers trip. They also say to accept the negative feelings and not judge, but the authors seemed to have a strong frustration and negative attitude towards those aspects. There is also an obvious lack for feminine energy. The book is written by all male authors and narrated by a male narrator. There were some aspects I found helpful, such as noting that the physical side effects, such as nausea, are a manifestation of the mind. Overall though, I did not like this book, and may be returning it. I do want to note, I have respect, and high regards for the authors. They were pioneers in bringing psychedelic acceptance and use to more people in the modern world, as well as explaining the state of mind from psychedelics.
