The storyline was as expected, although the “tension” between the two main characters was quite obvious. I found it disconcerting that everyone is “gorgeous” in the book – completely unrealistic. Ms. Morton has captured how a gay couple usually starts (focusing a lot on sex) but I don’t know many men who scream JESUS so frequently during the act. (Honestly, the sex scenes made me laugh.) It is very true that most gay relationships start the way it did here (the book ends a little over a year since the two main characters get together) with a great deal of intensity, so I can’t fault the author for that. That intensity mellows over time and maybe that is how the story continues, but I’m not really interested in finding out. Finally, Mr. Leslie’s performance was fair. At times I had a hard time figuring out if he was speaking as Dylan or Gabe and a lot of the times the secondary characters were vocalized so over the top that I found it distracting. Overall I wouldn’t recommend this book as there are others that provide better character development and plot.
