Firstly, I would say this book is at least worth a read or listen. Secondly though, this book has a lot of issues which surprised me due to the fact it has a 4.4/5 on Amazon..
To be blunt, the humor is lackluster, almost all the scenes lack detail and depth, a lot of characters are just faces with little detail and not much behind them, the MC is a huge Mary Sure for sure, it is most definitely a YA novel and will be fine for many young readers but it definitely isn’t a 4.4/5 kind of book. A final thing, the narrators are good but there are a few middling voices I would’ve rather had them reuse a voice with some slight tweaks than actually use in the book.
I’m almost near the end of the book but I don’t really feel the urge to finish this book which is telling. I would range this in the 3.0-3.5 range at most. As I said in the beginning though, the book is worth a listen as it could appeal to you especially if you are a younger reader.
