The voice actor was great. Really set the mood for each character. What I loved about this genre bending story was that it mixed everything brilliantly. Comedic moments. Action. The horror aspect was left a little wanting but I could let it pass due to everything else being rock solid.

Where this book really shines for me though is in delivering emotional content. The flashbacks where the protagonist received his diagnosis of terminal cancer. That brung a tear to my eye. Powerful stuff. Him describing the death of his grandmother and his fears related to that. Awesome stuff.

Not totally original. But it doesn’t need to be. I highly recommend.
