I found the plot rather mediocre, a conclusion I suspect heavily colored by the choice of narrator.
I concur with other reviewers, he was awful, in general, and his scots dialect was painful!! (the latter nearly caused me to give up, prematurely)
I only gritted my teeth and persevered to the end of this book in case there might be plot/character information important to other books in the series, which I intend to try due the change in narrator.
