We get these authors who can create great action prose and then they come up with a plot that makes zero sense – in this case 5 Iranian Quds force renegades who have at their hands more technology than is available at the NSA, and the US winds up negotiating with Iran to get out of the uncontrollable mess that these 5 guys have created

Totally off-the-wall about as bad as you can get, although I just read a couple of more by two different authors, Robert Dugoni and Allen McDermott who were about as bad – i.e. he US Govt is really controlled by a cadre of a bunch of bad guys that no one knows about. If you want the real deal – head for Mark Dawson
