80% amusing and 20% crap.
The 80% parts are when Esper bothers being Esper, Kubu is goofy yet sobering, Tiffany is a teenage apprentice, Wesley squared is a new dynamic, and the mission titles are grand.
The 20% negative is the fact the biggest obstacle for the protagonists is Esper’s hemming & hawing to the point people she cares about end up in mortal danger. The plots would be cake walks without the repetitive indecision. When the outcome is always Esper chooses to be Esper, abracadabra she wins, the inner struggle becomes irrelevant and the plots suffer as a result. That part of her character development was better in Mission Pack 1.
Mikael Naramore continues to carry more than his fair share while delivering Black Ocean to the masses. Without a doubt he earns a semi-patented thumbs up.
