The title of this novel should be a dead giveaway as to its contents if the overabundance of sex in it weren’t enough of an indication of what the story is about. A bisexual young college student discovers he’s into one guy in particular, while his lover admits to a similar affliction. Nate’s and Eric’s off-the-charts attraction to each other fuels a growing physical relationship that eventually morphs into something deeper and more meaningful. Eric is bold from the beginning, while Nate grows from tentative to decisive. Told entirely from Nate’s perspective, the story is full of emotion as we get to watch him blossom under Eric’s patiently expert ministrations, exploring and defining his sexuality with someone who is willing to help him go outside his comfort zone.
The performance certainly helped me “hear” these two young men better, which also helped with my appreciation of the new adult vibe. Kudos to the actor for making this a good experience for me, as I’m not normally a fan of NA stories.
