Angel and Simeon return in this book as the main characters. The focus of the relationship is the impact of the mate bond forged in book 1. We get to see Angel’s war with himself over what the bond means while Simeon remains steadfast in his support Each character, main and secondary, has their own incident related to the overall story line which allows us to get to know them better. It’s interesting to see how they all respond to danger. I loved getting to see the growth of the various relationships in the book and look forward to the next one in the series.

Joel’s narration was once again spot on. Even with several background characters getting more of the spotlight, you never felt lost as to who was speaking. Each character has their own sound and accent and they fit for each person too. I love how his narration makes you feel a part of the story.
