Hawk is My Favorite Character

I have listened to The Protectors series several times. I love the gruff, damaged men who fight to come back from their nightmares, and protect innocents from the darkness. This is my trope.

Hawk is my favorite character from the beginning of the series. Retribution is his story.

With the death of his wife, Hawk has pretty much been a loner. He works with Ronan’s group of vigilantes, all the while keeping an eye out for the nen who murdered his wife.

The story is intricate, winding characters and situations into a plot that only Sloane Kennedy can unfurl. Add in a sweet man who is unfortunate in his biological family, an adorable 5 year old, and Hawk’s heart begins to thaw.

The story has an HEA, but the epilogue segues into the next book. I’m headed right over to plug in the next audio. Oh! Narrators Joel Leslie and Michael Pauley/Dean read for different books in the series. You simply cannot go wrong with either of them.
