I listened to this book on audio, and I LOVED IT!

I’m usually not a big fantasy/supernatural reader, but I appreciate the occasional book, so when I was given the chance to review book 2, I jumped on it and decided to start the series from the beginning. And, man, am I glad I did!

I loved everything about this book. The action is fast paced and the intrigue runs deep. The story is well plotted and the writing is catching. I usually listen to audiobooks while driving or walking, but yesterday I did etra chores to continue listening to it, because I just didn’t want to stop.

Angel is a great character. He’s the only necromancer left in NYC after his entire family has been killed in a war with vampires that Angel himself has ended by exterminating a HUGE number of undead. Both vampires and humans alike dislike and fear him. And yet on he goes, the badass that he is, and he also has an unlikely truce with thelocal bloodclan.

Simeon, a 400-years-old sexy Irish vampire, is an Elder of the bloodclan, and is in love with Angel; when he decides to get on with his courtship he leaves Angel wary for a while, but his strenght and support soon break the sef-reliant necromancer’s barriers down.

Together they have to face deceipt, murders and kidnapping and understand who’s trying to come for Angel’s life in revenge.

A great book, narrated by an exceptional Joel Leslie!
