I love Mr. Krout’s universe and was excited about more cultivation stories and progression. However, the first 40% of the book has nothing to do with cultivation. It does set up the MC’s motivations but doesn’t even fully describe his background? In the end, I just feel lacking. He trained for so long and only had a single fight then it was over. I either want a book full of cultivation and his techniques or dungeon diving/fighting. This book tried to sit on two different chairs at the same time. As a result, it fell off of both.
The Narrator was fantastic as always. Love me some Baldree.
