This book is not about Stas but it continues the same storyline. This book is about Tom, who’s sent on a babysitting job after he nearly got Stas killed. Not that he didn’t already blame himself enough for that unfortunate and very badly timed incident. But nevertheless, he ends up babysitting The Asset in the one place he never wanted to set foot again. The house where his mother was murdered so many years ago.
But after realising just how brutal all the tests on The Asset are, he makes an executive decision to get The Asset and himself out of the clutches of his father’s company. Since Tom is the spitting image of his father, The Asset doesn’t want anything to do with him and certainly doesn’t trust the whole rebellion towards his father. She thinks it’s merely another sick game his father had in store for her. But considering the fact she doesn’t know anything from the outside world, she realizes that she needs him to survive.
Two enemies forced to flee together, all they can do is hope that the other won’t stab them in the back while fleeing the monster that has had his claws in both of them for years, only on opposite sides.

The more Tom allowes himself to no longer believe in everything his father does and most of all: the way he does it, or rather, the way he orders it done, the more the guilt of what The Asset has been through almost eats him alive. So now he will give everything to get her to safety, to somewhere his father can’t reach her. But whether that will be his redemption or his downfall, remains to be seen.
A great love story in a suspenseful paranormal setting, looking forward to the next books in this interesting series.
