Like a lot of Bible’s other novels, this one is part of a much larger story. Taking place in the same universe as his Roak Bounty Hunter stories, this is the tale of the Universe’s best and most dangerous drop team.
There are a lot of characters and alien races to keep track of here, though, and if I hadn’t already been a fan of Roak, I might not have been able to follow along as well. Unfortunately, since this is an ensemble story, it was hard to really get the feel for any of the main characters. My hope is that as the series progresses, they will get fleshed out more.
And what can I say about Wehrlen? He has yet to disappoint me. He is the perfect fit for Bible’s wry sense of humor and I hope he and Bible have a long partnership.
