I listened to book two in this series before book one but I didn’t realize it at first. I spent the first few chapters of this book wondering why Steve was such an idiot. Once I realized this is an earlier version of Steve, I settled into the story.

Wow, what a deeply disturbed and icky character the embalmer was. Zandri took us inside the embalmer’s head too well. Yikes! About mid-book, we get the big reveal. Then the real cat and mouse game begins.

I absolutely loved the ending. Several Zandri characters that I have loved in other books make an appearance. That was unexpected and very, very, very cool

Wehrlen continues to be his wonderful self. His narration style just lends itself to great book listening.

I listened to the books out of order but I’ve loved them still! On to book three!
