Kinsley found herself in a horrible, abusive relationship with seemingly no way out, until one day a way presented itself and she ran. The start of the story is heartbreaking in so many ways. Ashton is someone who’s used to getting what he wants, until he meets Kinsley, hiding away under a false identity. Of course he pursues her, despite her efforts to stop him, and in that pursuit they both end up falling for each other. It’s a sweet romance, with some hot and steamy mixed in for good measure. The closure with the ex almost feels anticlimactic, but at the same time, I was glad the story didn’t delve into a tired plot of bad guy re-appearing and new guy has to rescue girl. Instead, we get a more subtle justice, and it works well. Even the few secondary characters we encounter are enjoyable, especially Lex. Sarah Puckett does a fantastic job narrating, bringing all the emotion and passion needed to bring the story to life.

I received this audiobook free in exchange for my fair and honest review.
