I think I like this story, which is why I listened to book 2. In Book 1, it sounded like the narration was artificially sped up because a lot of the words were almost non-existent. I had to slow it down to .75 speed and then the narrator sounded drunk. For book 2 I didn’t have to manipulate the playback, but the narrator was still annoying. I literally had to listen to the last 3rd of the book about 4 times because it never stuck. The way he reads makes you tune him out and your mind wanders. It’s excruciating. I’m going to try one more and then give up if it doesn’t get any better. I’m sad to see that Will Wight has the same narrator for another of his series. Ugh.
