This book/series clearly pays homage to another popular series involving vampires. There are many differences though that make this series just as interesting and engaging. First, there appears to be a lot more public knowledge regarding the vampires. There are also substantially different family dynamics involved that create more character development and conflicts.

That said, I enjoy the series, but there were times that I felt it was jumbled a bit. There is a line where one character accuses another of being obsessed with vampires, but I did not get that feeling from the previous chapters. Then again, it may be foreshadowing by the author, but the accused character did not question the statement. It will be interesting to see how it continues and if the characters revisit the scene.

Ms. Puckett did a great job narrating this novel. I enjoy that she has so many different voices for both her male and female characters. I have come to love the narrators that can indicate which character is talking and how they feel without the call and Ms. Puckett never disappoints. I am eager to see how the series continues and I hope Ms. Puckett will continue to be involved.
