J.S. Morin truly outdid himself with this collection. Each character was fleshed out and had me on the edge of my seat as I listened intently to the next plot or intrigue that they caught themselves in. Kyrus and Brannis were two sides of the same coin and just magnificent working together. My favorite had to be Rashaun however, as only one other villain has made me feel like that before (Mort in Black Ocean). I truly enjoyed his interaction with the world and his increasing importance in the plot. Watching who I saw as a hero slowly fall into the antagonist position was truly wonderful. Morin really outdid himself with these novels. And Naramore just added to it! With his inflection, accent choices, and dutiful commitment to this monster of a story, Mikael Naramore has singled himself out as one of my favorite narrators of all time. Truly a work of art, this collection deserves every praise it has ever received.
