Overall the book still falls into the typical and over saturated LitRPG genre. However, using a Monster/Mimic as the main character makes the idea feel fresh. In similar books all the RPG elements are spelled out like its a beginners guide to playing an RPG, but in this one it makes sense and isn’t as grating. Its pretty funny, has some sexy parts, and the main story is interesting. On a downside some of the erotica parts are a bit to long, a few of the jokes don’t make contextual sense, and honestly there is no hook to read the next book. Ive listened to this book many times and still enjoy it, maybe one day Ill get in the mood to get past chapter 1 of book 2.

Jeff Hayes is pretty great but the sound affects are immersion breaking. Similar to more current Soundbooth books there are loud and the narration pauses for them. Any books that use sound affects well, keep them low and subtle as to not deafen the listeria and not break the narrative flow. Some good example of this are most of the Star Wars novels.
