It’s an interesting concept and well read. But the magical *woosh* chime transition sound is infuriatingly annoying. I don’t even understand why it’s necessary or exists. I’m about an hour in and heard it probably about a dozen times.
I usually listen with headphones, so it’s not only a little jarring, but it seems to just happen mid-scene to jump to a different time or character. I’m not sure why the author couldn’t use better or more natural transitions, or the editors couldn’t just put a brief pause or something.
If the chimes keep up at this pace I’m going to have to refund the book just on principle. Not sure how anyone even made it through this book.
