While condemned by some for not being a true crime thriller, this history of a group forensic scientists is filled with the horrors of violent death, but mostly delves into their heroic compassion to keep plodding away at a grisly hunt for the sake of victims and their loved ones. The detectives and scientists pay a heavy emotional price for their compassion. The story is not about coping skills, but rather about the long-reaching effects of violent crime long after the victim’s death. Plenty of procedurals, science, and psychopaths for everyone. Highly recommended.
