The book narrator (as opposed to reader) appears to be sexist)

Aside from that, it’s too long and covers too long a period of time. Sherry, the sequential and constant wife cares more about appearances and the I life than any of her husbands is truly a horrible person, but she doesn’t actually, physically, to any of the killing – although she clearly is guilty of hiring to kill. Gary, apparently, thinks with the wrong head, as do most men who have been introduced to her.

That both Sherry and Gary, in the end, plead guilty to avoid the death penalty, and save the state money and messy trials, is good.
