the character development in this book was amazing. I felt like I could connect with the main character on a deep level. The author didn’t dive too deep into the rabbit hole of gear, prepping, and that kind of stuff, not that there’s anything wrong with that, it just gets redundant. If you have been deployed, or work in law enforcement, you won’t be disappointed with the author’s description of gunfights, firearm manipulation, and overall realism of death and violence (save for one part where a character “closes the eyes” of a dead guy. in real life, that doesn’t work, but it seems everyone puts that scene in their books, so, whatever). I was very entertained, and couldn’t stop listening to this series. I hope the author gets crazy and turns this in to a long series!!
