First I have to say that I didn’t think this was going to be good.
Having completed Book One, I have to admit that I was wrong. This is a complex world with an intricate system of magic which in turn has given form to a culture and a bellicose hierarchical political system of clans.
It’s complicated enough that you really have to hang in there for maybe ten to fifteen chapters of sketching in these critical details.
I started out just confused and not liking what seemed like a LitRPG or something. Then at some point I realized I was really stuck in, despite some mild irritation with the narrator. (It felt sped up…)
By the start of chapter 14, I was completely hooked. I immediately looked up the series and maybe the universe loves me because they were all on sale.
Long story short-This was WAY better than I thought it would be!
