Normally I take stars off for such crude and degenerate behavior, but I am not convinced the writer wasn’t intentionally portraying the characters that way for story reasons. So instead I will just give the disclaimer, if you are offended by misogyny DO NOT buy this book because it is prevalent throughout the book. I would also like to add this book has a very dark tone so if you’re looking for something light-hearted look elsewhere. With those disclaimers out of the way I would like to add the book was excellent, there are various political elements and subterfuge that create a dynamic story instead of the typical “murder-hobo” Lit-RPG. Jeff Hays was excellent as always. The writing was a little lack-luster, but that is to be expected in a first book, I expect it will improve in later books.
