Chick lit is not always my thing. It use to be the only thing I ever read but I rarely read it anymore. This book is classic chick lit. Girl gets left at the alter, finds a friend in a hunky British dude, finds out that they knew each other when they were little… and they obviously fall madly in love. It’s good stuff. My issue with this particular book was how angry Charlie got over Reed lying about who wrote the notes. These notes made Charlie feel good about herself. And she didn’t talk to Reed for weeks over this. I just don’t understand. If he had lied to hurt her, I totally understand all that anger. But Reed was doing a nice thing… I just don’t understand. And of course like 99.9% of chick lit the dialogue was cheesy AF. But you have to know that going in so it didn’t really take away from the story.
