Desert Runner is Book 1 in the Puatera Online LitRPG series by Dawn Chapman, and boy does it start off with a bang! First off, Maddie is an NPC (non-playable character). Real life players aren’t really supposed to be able to have unscripted interactions and communication with NPCs, so when Maddie picks up a transport quest and finds out exactly what she’s meant to transport, things quickly get a little hairy. Maddie is different than other NPCs…I don’t want to give too much away, but this book is so much fun!
Andrea Parsneau does a fabulous job narrating Desert Runner. She has a wide array of voices that she uses that uniquely identify so many different characters and listening to the story was super enjoyable. Not only is the story itself entertaining, but you’re drawn in even more through great narration. Trust me-if you listen to this book, you’re going to want to listen to the entire series (up to book 8 right now). I’m heading onto my 5th book of the series and these are SO much fun!!
