The premise was okay, and got off to a great start. However, there were a few problems I had with the book. The narrator couldn’t do different voices. I couldn’t tell when it was Gary, cloak or any female speaking. Many times, cloak was apparently whispering in Gary’s ear, but with no difference in tone, inflection or pitch of voice, you wouldn’t know it.

The story itself captured me at the beginning, although I did have to restart it, as the first time, I wasn’t fully listening, and realized I missed quite a bit. Once the story progressed though, it actually got boring.

There was no real character development, so why should I care about any of the characters, including Gary?

Stayed with it till the end, but there is no reason for me to move on to the next in the series.
