Don’t write women characters if you don’t understand women

I’ve fast forwarded and skipped vast passages of this book because of the sophomoric way the female characters are written. It’s as if the author had a complaint that there weren’t enough women in his books, so he added a couple, but didn’t know what to do with them. The women seem to be there only to stroke the lead male character’s-ahem-ego.
