This could be the turn point from a fantastic series to a sub par one considering there’s still 7 books give or take.
This book failed to bring most of what made the last books great, we didn’t get to see the characters grow in power, nor did we feel empowered through them, no plot lines were resolved at all leaving us at a cliffhanger, and not even a new one.
The book is also starting to show critical failures, power buffs and debuffs willy nilly so it could fit the plot, what was once introduced as destructive is now the equivalent of a bb-gun in most encounters.
Can’t recommend this to anyone, even fans of the series should stay away until the next book is available. I love the series and I’ll try the next book, but if it failed to improve on this one it will be my last in the series.
