This is so bad….
The plot is alright, sure it’s cheesy and full of insta-love etc, but that’s part of the fun with this sort of books.
The writing though…..frankly it’s terrible. I’m sorry but it really is. The characters say everything they think out loud, no matter if it’s something private and they are speaking to a stranger or if it’s something unnecessary (either because everyone already knows it or because it’s irrelevant to the conversation). The pacing is really off too…
it feels very rushed in general, and sometimes it’s just strange. In the beginning when Armand explains all the mate and werewolf stuff to Sean for the first time, Sean is obviously uncertain and kind of worried. or he would have been if the author had written it properly. instead he goes from uncomfortable to perfectly fine to confused to perfectly fine (again) in four (short) sentences….
(as an aside, there is a scene where Sean tells Armand:”It reminds me of the night we met”. Soo, you mean yesterday? or maybe the day before yesterday. that’s how little time has passed so why are you speaking as if it was years ago? I don’t know why but this line was my breaking point. I got up to here but couldn’t go further.)
I won’t express judgement regarding the narrator. I didn’t personally like him, but maybe if he’d been reading something else I wouldn’t have minded him. I do appreciate his trying to give everyone a specific accent and voice.
