Most long series seem desperate to hold my attention or formulaic or worse yet, too obviously locked into a publisher’s demands on the poor author to “write more for money’s sake!” But this. This feels like an author’s love affair with his stories and characters. What a gem. As a fan of both fantasy and sf this series delights in both those realms. I hope Mort and Carl and Kuboo return soon. Delightful.
