After how much i enjoyed the first two books, this was a massive let down for several reasons. These are a little spoilery so continue at your own discretion.

First, the mind control chips are stupid. I hated everything about them. No such tech should exist, mainly because you open yourself up for an insane amount of plot holes in the future, and they’re just a shitty ‘cheat’ tech that cheapens the story anyway.
Second, random invulnerability. Arrows can puncture the kaiju hide but a deagle can’t? F off.
Most importantly though, I just didn’t like the plot. I found myself saying ‘oh that’s stupid’ way too many times…
This book ended my interest in the series.
