This has been one of the most refreshing takes on this still bidding genre. it’s got a very pleasant pace, enjoyable characters and satisfying conclusion while still letting you look forward to more. Hooper could have utterly dragged out this obviously century long premise but I personally feel the time jumps where used to proper effect.
this is not a long burn like say, The Land, but it shouldn’t be. the overall point is that while time seems to be passing it isn’t and the brain is reconciling years as minutes to compensate. progress is slow but at the same time rapid and I enjoyed that.
while normally I prefer Jeff to be the main lead I’ll give James full marks here as once again SBT made this experience wonderful.
Don’t miss this book and I can’t wait to listen to further stories
