Five Wishes Series is absolutely delightful. It is the perfect combination of hilarious comedy, sweet romance, and hot sexy times. Each novella features a different couple and the challenges they face to finding true love…with each other. I loved all the characters and each of the stories, but I think the second one was the funniest. I laughed so hard multiple times during that book, and I actually had to pull to the side of the road, so I could get myself under control during the bear scene. Although the comedy is the best part of the books, each has a touching story with a valuable life lesson. These lessons include not forcing yourself to be someone that you aren’t to please somebody’s unrealistic expectations, to love yourself the way you are, to accept your body and looks no matter if they conform to society’s standards, and that everybody has his/her perfect match. You will fall in love with each of these fun couples as they fall in love with each other, and, although the sex scenes are tastefully written, they are much too hot to classify this romance as clean or sweet. I highly recommend this audiobook for anyone looking to wear a goofy grin of happiness for a long time after finishing the listen.
Angie Hickman’s narration is sublime. She has a very light, youthful voice, and she is the perfect match for these five ladies. She doesn’t differentiate overly between the male and female characters, but she uses just the right change in tone that I always knew who was speaking. Her delivery of some of the sarcastic lines had me laughing all the harder, and I loved how her voice would get almost high and squeaky when the ladies were losing their cool. I think that I would enjoy this book either way, but Hickman’s narration makes it an award winning production.
