Although the title seems a little intense, My Enemy Needs Me is a low angst mm story. It’s about two completely different (and stubborn) men, Mark and Ethan, who meet and a different spark ignites. As they begin to learn about each other (only by proximity if anything given their circumstances) they find small similarities and a small spark of something more begins to burn.

I’ve read JP Oliver’s stories and after reading My Enemy Needs Me, I appreciated how he’s written a story with the two MCs who have problems that we can relate to; Mark the paleontologist who suffers from polio and Ethan the construction worker who lives paycheck by paycheck. They do come off as jerks at first and their connection is a slow burn and almost unbelievable BUT in the end, Ethan and Mark find their connection and it’s sweet.

Austin Jay narrates well, I was able to hear how he differentiate Mark and Ethan and because I’ve been spoiled with preferring narrators who can do that, I was able to finish this audio.

My Enemy Needs Me has a good story line and if you enjoy slow burn, stubborn mean and sweet love, this is for you. Happy reading all!
