This novel is essentially just the introduction arc to a standard cultivation novel, which means that if it followed the usual cultivation novel format later on it would just be about 1/20th of the story. He’s still at the first realm of cultivation at the end, so not going anywhere fast.

It was decent, if pretty standard all things considered. One thing that infuriates me to no end though is that on top of normal asinine cultivation tropes we have seemingly western style bigoted retard Nobles that infest the cultivation world, not just the mundane/mortal world as everyone can cultivate in this setting. It’s inclusion thus far is only detrimental with no interesting related plot elements explored, only the MC getting bashed and suppressed to the nth degree to really make sure he’s really the ultimate underdog of underdogs without being outright crippled. Elders in the Verdant Green Waters Sect randomly fucks with him for no apparent reasons and he’s stumied at every turn, doesn’t even get the smallest amount of standard info upon joining the sect etc. Really should be called the Irredeemable Honorless Dogs sect or something.

Otherwise it flows well and is generally good. A few details make it stand out from standard fare and raise my hope for the future, like a few interesting side characters and the end but for now the MC is too weak to do anything and is at the mercy of every shithead wanting to put him down so we’ll have to see what happens when he actually has the power to have some agency.
