This was quite the enjoyable book. It gave me a Starship Troopers vibe with its grotesque scenes and the type of alien enemies they come across. It always felt like the humans were the underdogs which made the fight scenes more tense and uncertain, which got me hooked. I’m excited to see where they take book 2 in the series!
The performance was amazing. All three narrators did an excellent job of executing their dialogue scenes and the sound effects were well produced and placed. This style of recording, with the addition of sound effects, seems to fit this genre particularly well. I’ll have to look into more soundbooth recordings now.
