Caveat: I received a free copy of this audiobook from the author in exchange for this independent review.

OK, now that that is out of the way, let’s take a quick critical look at this offering.

It is not very good. The basics are OK I suppose, but the characters are cartoonish at best, and Gallagher doesn’t do much with them to bring them to life. The story ( as many seem to do these days ) goes off on unrelated tangents, and, of course, is left pretty much unresolved as it is a series.

The underlying concept is interesting however, and the root of a solid book/series is here. But not this version. I can’t recommend it.
