Dungeon Lord is a fun and interesting LitRPG story that is average in comparison to other similar books. The MC’s back story and development isn’t fleshed out well, so it’s a struggle to care too much about him. The world building is also average at best, but still a good effort.
What boosts this first entry in The Wraith’s Haunt series is the performance by Jeff Hays and Annie Ellicott. Their voices, sound effects, and interaction are stellar and engaging. My hope is the author’s skill improves with the rest of his books, but even if he remains the same, Mr. Hays and Ms. Ellicott are fantastic to listen to.
