I got through the first book, thinking…okay they got the groundwork done. The repeated discussions regarding weapons and ammunition made it very clear that these Christians would be relying heavily on their own ability to battle the bad guys. For just any survival story, I get it, but Revelation? The fixation of the weapons and ammo made me feel very uncomfortable as a possible surviving Christian when it continued into the next book. It is as if the characters do not grasp that the weapons are death and lost souls. Where is the faith in God? Where is the concern to witness to the lost? The opportunity to be a witness and be a disciple for Christ is coming to an end. Shouldn’t trying to reach others be your focus? The focus is about the financial fall and building a army. Do they understand that they cannot change the outcome? That they are fighting against what God ordained in Revelation? It’s sad when a supposedly biblical based story leaves out the essence of the message. Examples: remake of Left Behind, recent Noah and Exodus: Kiings and Gods. This author left me feeling the same way as these movies.
