similar to other titles in genre

Awaken Online has a somewhat similar story arc. AO has a better story and voice actor.

Once you have gone through a few of the LIT RPG books. They have a lot in common. Getting stuck in the game or an AI out of control. Some have both.

Predictable outcomes, slightly misogynistic, a little sophomoric, the magic has no defined rules. Many LIT RPG books have the same issues. This book piles them on. The writer needs to expand other characters. As of right now (the end of book one) one character is slightly fleshed out, in 24 hour book.

That being said. The main character kind of grew on me. His little band is mildly entertaining.

I hope the next two books get better. I see they get shorter and shorter. I am not hopeful.
