Wonderful book that recognizes the emperor as naked!
Every word rings true but is anybody really surprised or unaware of these truths?
No person on this planet has truly altruistic reasons for doing anything ever! Duh! The human brain wants its kicks of dopamine and some get it by aggressive competition and others by drugs. Then there are those who get their kicks by self sacrifice but make no mistake its still a dopamine kick!
So as a truly selfish species the best we can hope for is to train our brains to get their dopamine kicks from things that truly benefit other human beings. Things like medical research, or helping to stop hunger or climate change.
For the people that listen to this book and act surprised or pretend this is not true gospel:
– “I feel very sorry for you because you are delusional!”
