Over the last few years I’ve gotten a little sick of the “players stuck in an MMO” trope that we’ve seen time and time again. That said, when R. R. Virdi was giving out audible codes I couldn’t pass it up. For it subscribing to that kind of story, it still really sets itself apart with memorable characters and an intriguing backstory that has me really interested in the sequels. Is good book.
But most of all I absolutely recommend this one in audio form. Jeff Hays is a great narrator in general, but midway through the book is a musical section that he goes all in with. Most the time you have narrators kind of halfass these musical sections of books, but Hays went all in with original music and singing for this section. It alone made pursuing the audiobook well worth it. So I definitely say check it out.
